Women's Lacrosse Game Notes • Week 3

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - After opening the 2015 season with five straight road games, the Loras College Women's Lacrosse team will enjoy the comforts of home in week three. The Duhawks welcome Elmhurst to the Rock Bowl on Wednesday before facing off against Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference oppponents Cornell and Wartburg this weekend. 

DUHAWKS TOPPLE CARROLL IN NON-CONFERENCE TURN UP …
Entering Saturday's bout with Carroll, the Duhawks had nearly three weeks of practice under their belts. The extended preperation paid off for Loras as they soared past the Pioneers, 13-6 in Waukesha, Wisconsin for their first win of the season. Freshman Ashley McGee was credited with her first career win, recording five saves in the win.

KUTSCH ECLIPSES CENTURY MARK …
Over the past three seasons, junior Kaitlyn Kutsch has etched her name into the Loras College Women's Lacrosse record books. On Sunday, the Wahlert Catholic alumnus added another milestone to her resume. Scoring on a free position opportunity with 10 minutes to play against Concordia - Wisconsin, Kutsch scored her 100th career goal. Taking just 37 games to accomplish the feat, Kutsch averages nearly three goals a game for her career.

HANSON GETS HOT IN WISCONSIN …
Opening the season with a strong showing in the Twin Cities, freshman Sarah Hanson tallied five goals, three groundballs, one caused turnover, and one draw control on the weekend. The Hartland, Wisconsin product showcased her ability to be a consistent threat on attack, pairing nicely alongside junior Kaitlyn Kutsch.

FALCONS FIRE POWER TOO MUCH FOR LORAS TO HANDLE …
A quick start by Concordia - Wisconsin proved to be too much for the Duhawks to comeback from on Sunday. The Falcons scored the first three goals of the game before freshman Sarah Hanson and junior Kaitlyn Kutsch tallied goals for Loras in the 19-2 loss.

THREE HOME GAMES IN WEEK THREE …
With five home games on the 2015 slate, three of Loras' games in the Rock Bowl will take place this week. Wednesday's midweek matchup with CCIW opponent Elmhurst will provide the Duhawks with an opportunity to bounce back from Sunday's loss and build momentum for the weekend's MWLC matchups. On Satruday, the Duhawks welcome Cornell to Dubuque, Iowa before tackling Wartburg at home on Sunday. All three opponents are in their first year of NCAA competition.
