DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras Track and Field team resumed its season on Saturday at the Sol Butler Classic, hosted by the University of Dubuque. The men's team claimed a fourth place finish while the women's team took sixth. Junior
Elizabeth Brandenburg posted the lone individual win for the Duhawks in the 55m Hurdles.
POST MEET NOTES - Returning All-American Zach Frey finished third in the 400m with his time of 50.85 ... His career-best in the indoor 400m is 50.65, set back in his freshman year
- Loras' 4x400 Relay took third with their time of 3:27.92 ... The team included Brandon Gradoville, Zach Frey, Kylian Lally and Nick Ball
- Junior Brien Nugent finished fifth in the mile with a time of 4:30.53 ... Nugent's all-time best of 4:29.98 came last season at the Iowa Conference Indoor Championships
- Senior Jake Brock set a personal best in the 55m Hurdles with his time of 8.20 ... His previous best of 8.75 was set back in 2013
- Returning national qualifer, junior Elizabeth Brandenburg won the 55m Hurdles with her finals time of 8.47 ... Her time was .1 off of her all-time best of 8.37
- Junior Audrey Hooks finished just behind Brandenburg in third place with her time of 8.85
- Loras 4x400 Relay team took third with a time of 10:13.23 ... The team included Audrey Miller, Liz Venezio, Carrie Piper and Kelly Minear
- Hooks added a third place finish to her resume in the Triple Jump with a distance of 10.23m
- Senior Bree Powers turned in a finals time of 7.50 in the 55m Dash to take third place ... Powers' time was an all-time best for the New Lenox, Ill. native, who's previous best of 7.58 came back in 2014 at the Iowa Conference Indoor Championships
