Track & Field Sets 36 Personal Records at UW-Platteville Invitational

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras track and field program set 36 person bests on Saturday at the UW-Platteville Invitational and posted 15 top-five finishes in the process. A clean sweep of the relays paved the way for the Duhawks, winning the 4x200 and 4x400 on both the men's and women's side.

LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Bree Powers and sophomore Alyssa Simon posted top-five finishes in the 60m Dash, with Powers finishing in a time of 8.13 and Simon recording a time of 8.15.
  • Powers won the 200m Dash with her time of 26.71 and was joined in teh top-five by sophomore Devin Hasson and her time of 27.46.
  • Freshman Allie Serres finished third in the 400m Dash, posting a time of 1:01.67.
  • Running in the 800m Run for the first time in her career, junior Alexis Hanson placed third, crossing the finish line in 2:22.39.
  • Freshman Audrey Miller continued her remarkable campaign, winning the 5000 Run and posting the second-best time in Loras history, running the race in 17:52.79. Junior Emily Day finished fifth with her time of 19:13.61.
  • Junior Audrey Hooks ran the fastest time in the 60m Hurdles to qualify for finals in 9.01. She was joined by fellow junior Elizabeth Brandenburg, who recorded a time of 9.19. Hooks' time ranks 15th in Division III and first in the Iowa Conference. In the finals, Hooks placed first with her time of 9.02.
  • Loras' 4x200 Relay Team won with their time of 1:47.28, finishing in 1:47.28. The team was made up of Powers, Hanson, Simon and sophomore Rachel Kilburg.
  • The 4x400 Relay Team of Powers, Kilburg, sophomore Emily Ney and Hanson posted a time of 4:08.25, finishing first.
  • For the third consecutive meet, Brandenburg won the Pole Vault, clearing 3.62m.
  • Hooks capped her day on the track with a third place finish in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.61m.
  • Senior Zach Frey won the 800m Run in 1:53.61 and was followed by sophomore Kylian Lally, who finished third with his time of 1:56.92. Frey's time ranks eighth in Division III and first in the Iowa Conference.
  • Junior Ben Hedges placed fourth in the 3000m Run, recording a time of 9:14.57.
  • Loras swept both the 4x200 and 4x400 Relays on Saturday. The 4x200 Team, made up of senior Stedman Foster, senior Nick Ball, junior Brandon Gradoville and junior Zach Minch, finished in 1:32.84. The 4x400 Team won with a time of 3:25.71, with a squad of Gradoville, Lally, senior Jake Brock and Foster.
  • Senior Keontae Neely placed fourth in the High Jump, clearing 1.87m. Fellow senior Dan Vatch posted a fifth-place finish with a height of 1.82m.

UP NEXT
Loras will remain in the Key City next weekend and compete at the Spartan Invite on Friday night.
