DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras track and field program remained in the Key City on Friday night and competed at the Spartan Invitational, hosted by the University of Dubuque. With five wins across both the men's and women's programs, the women finished second in the team standings while the men placed third.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Elizabeth Brandenburg added a victory for Loras in the 55m Hurdles, posting a lifetime personal best time of 8.26, which puts her second all-time at Loras and ranks sixth in Division III.
- Senior Bree Powers added a win in the 200m, posting another lifetime best, finishing in 26.43. Powers remains seventh all-time in Loras history with the performance.
- Later, Powers finished second in the 55m dash with a lifetime best 7.41, which ranks sixth all-time at Loras.
- Freshman Audrey Miller took second in the 1 Mile in 5:12.51, moving herself into fifth all-time at Loras. All four runners ahead of Miller in the record book went on to become All-Americans. Friday night marked the first time this season that Miller competed in the 1 Mile.
- Sophomores Rachel Kilburg and Devin Hasson joined Powers in the top-10, finishing eighth and ninth respectively.
- In the 800m, freshman Liz Venezio and sophomore Emily Ney turned in top-10 finishes, with both runners recording lifetime bests. Venezio's time of 2:26.96 earned her a fifth-place finish while Ney took seventh with her time of 2:27.77.
- Another week, another win for Brandenburg in the pole vault. This week, Brandenburg clearned a height of 3.50m, tying Augustana's Mackenzie Butcher.
- Junior Amy Gladis finished eighth in the pole vault with her height of 3.05m.
- Freshman Anna Hedges placed ninth in the weight throw with her lifetime best mark of 13.25m.
- Senior Zach Frey set a lifetime best and a facility record in the 800m with his time of 1:53.50, moving up to ninth in Division III. Frey remains third all-time in Loras history with the performance.
- Sophomore Gerrand Moody won the 55m Hurdles on Friday and set a new personal best time of 7.84. Moody now ranks fourth all-time at Loras.
- Senior Jake Brock added a fourth-place finish in the 55m Hurdles with his time of 8.14, a lifetime best.
- In the 200m, senior Nick Ball took ninth with a time of 23.15.
- Senior Bradnon Gradoville set a personal best in the 400m, finishing second on Friday night. Gradoville's time of 50.46 moves him into ninth all-time at Loras.
- Senior Dan Vatch took third in the High Jump with his lifetime best mark of 1.90m.
- Sophomore Nathan Kimbrell took sixth in the 800m behind Frey with his time of 2:00.31, a personal best.
- Senior Keontae Neely placed third in the long jump with his mark of 6.44m.
