SERIES HISTORY: UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE
Loras psots a 45–20 record agaisnt crosstown rival University of Dubuque. The teams first met in the 1987 season in which Loras started its winning ways. The Duhawks swept the Spartans 9–0 in game one and 11–2 in game two. 

 
LAST MEETING VERSUS THE SPARTANS
In last season's doubleheader, the Duhawks struck first in game one, scoring six runs in the second inning to take a substantial lead. A late rally from Dubuque, highlighted by a grand slam, helped the Spartans overcome the deficit to win 12–9. Loras scored in a similar fashion in game two, bringing in seven runs in the second frame, powering them to a 9–2 victory for the series split. 

 
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
Dubuque enters Tuesday's contest with a 7–21 record and is 0–6 in the IIAC. The team's biggest strength is helping each other on defense as they lead the conference with 259 assists. The Spartans have had limited success with extra base hits, recording 30 as a team this season, compared to Loras' 49. Tori Woltz and Brianna Gyrion lead the team offensively. Woltz posts a .349 batting average with 29 hits. Gryrion has a .380 on base percentage with 11 runs and 11 RBIs. 

 
SERIES HISTORY: BUENA VISTA
Buena Vista owns the series history against Loras with a 38–16 record in the teams' 28 years of competition. In the inaugural doubleheader, the Beavers took both games, 5–0 and 5–2. 

 
LAST MEETING VERSUS THE BEAVERS
The Duhawks and Beavers last met in Storm Lake in the 2015 season. The teams split, with Buena Vista taking the first game 9–8. Not phased by the loss, Loras powered back in game two. The Duhawks recorded two runs in the third, fifth and seventh innings. Makaila Haase was in the circle and held the Beavers to one earned run. Dani Stromert's home run and two RBIs powered Loras to a 6–3 victory in game two.   

 
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS 
Buena Vista is 18–13 on the season, 5–3 in conference, after having lost a doubleheader to Luther last week. The team ranks second in the conference in doubles with 43, but fifth in runs with 133. The Beavers have also allowed 42 extra base hits on the season. Junior Cheyanna Boland posts the team-best batting average of .382 with 34 hits and 19 BBIs. Leading the Beavers on the mound is Jenna Falline with a 2.00 ERA. Opponents have been limited to a .254 batting average against Falline in the circle.

 
HOW CHAPMAN GOT HER GROOVE BACK
Two-sport athlete sophomore Miranda Chapman has started to find her groove at the plate in the last two weeks. Seeing more consistent playing time as of late, Chapman has recorded at least one hit in each of the last six games and added a RBI in the last four games. Her .621 slugging percentage ranks second on the team, an increase from last season's mark at .506.

 
STROMERT REFUSES TO STAY IN THE DUGOUT
Junior Dani Stromert has started all 28 games this season for the Duhawks and has brought her career total to 98 appearances in her first three years. In the game on Saturday, Stromert kept the offense moving with a double and later came around to score on freshman Shannon Coyle's single to right center. Stromert has spent as little time as possible inside her own dugout, owning a .490 on-base percentage, highlighted by her 26 walks this season, which ranks 10th in Division III. She also has the longest on base streak on the team at 15 games. Even at the top of the lineup, Stromert has found ways to drive in runs, totaling 13 on the season.
