Box Score LISLE, Ill. (Duhawks.com) – The Loras women's lacrosse team fell on the road Friday night to Benedictine, 18-7. Junior
Hannah Nelson tallied twice while adding two assists and two ground balls.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- Benedictine got out in front right from the opening whistle, scoring five times in the first 10 minutes.
- Kutsch ended the scoring rally with a pair of goals 16 seconds apart with 16:44 to play in the half. With the goal, Kutsch extended her scoring streak to 19 games.
- The Eagles responded with three goals to extend their lead to 8-2 with 12:12 remaining in the opening frame.
- Nelson scored her first of the game, an unassisted tally, to cut into the Benedictine lead, her first in three games.
- With 32 seconds left in the half, sophomore Sarah Hanson assisted on Kutsch's third goal of the half to send Loras to the halftime break trailing 9-4.
- The Eagles opened the second half on a tear, rattling off six consecutive goals to take a commanding 15-4 lead.
- The Duhawks matched Benedictine goal for goal the rest of the way but was unable to cut into the lead, falling 18-7.
- Joining Kutsch and Nelson on the scoresheet was junior Anna Schwalbe, who recorded her fourth goal of the season with 8:58 left to play.
- Freshman Martha Venchus was active and aggressive on defense, recording a season-high six ground balls to go along with four caused turnovers.
- Sophomore Ashley McGee finished with 10 saves on the night. Friday marked the fourth game this season that McGee has reached double-digit saves.

Hannah Nelson | The junior tied season-high marks in goals and assists, bringing her season total to eight goals and five assists. Nelson also owns one of the highest shot on goal percentages on the team, targeting 13 of her 16 shots on frame.

Loras will make a return trip to non-conference play on Tuesday for a contest against the University of Dubuque. The Spartans currently sit at 7-2 overall and host Carroll on Saturday.
