WAVERLY, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras track and field program competed at the 2016 Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships over the weekend and saw twelve champions crowned in six events. As a team, the women finished second with 138 points while the men finished third with 135 points.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Bree Powers earned All-Conference honors in the 100m and 200m, finishing third in the 100m with a time of 12.04, which is a PR and is second all-time at Loras. Her time in the 200m of 24.85, earned her a second place finish.
- Freshman Allie Serres placed third in the 800m, finishing in 2:21.93. This performance matches her finish at the IIAC Indoor Championships earlier this year.
- Freshman Audrey Miller took second in the 5000m, finishing behind the multiple time National Champion and All-American, Tricia Serres of Luther.
- For the third time in her career, senior Maggie Saenz Ruiz won the 10k at the IIAC Championships, finishing in 38:06.08.
- Junior Audrey Hooks won the 100m Hurdles with a finals time of 14.49.
- Loras' 4x100 Relay team earned All-Conference honors, finishing third with a team of Powers, Hooks and sophomores Alyssa Simon and Rachel Kilburg.
- The 4x400 Relay team of Powers, Serres, Kilburg and junior Alexis Hanson took third, finishing in 3:57.90.
- In the 4x800 Relay, the Duhawks took third with the squad of freshmen Kemunto Ondande, Audrey Miller, Liz Venezio and sophomore Carrie Piper.
- Junior Elizabeth Brandenburg won the Pole Vault for the third time in her career at Loras, clearing a height of 3.76m, which set both an Iowa Conference Championship record as well as the stadium record at Walston-Hoover.
- Junior Amy Gladis joined Brandenburg on the podium, placing third with her height of 3.20m.
- As a group, the Loras women earned 20 All-Conference honors.
- Junior Brandon Gradoville raced to a second place finish in the 400m with his time of 49.18. Right behind Gradoville, in fourth, was senior Stedman Foster and his time of 49.51.
- Senior Zach Frey repeated as an Iowa Conference Champion in the 800m, crossing the line in 1:53.61. Joining Frey on the podium was sophomore Kylian Lally and his second place finish in 1:54.06.
- Sophomore Mason Tope took second in the 10k, turning in a time of 31:38.65.
- After posting the top time in Friday's preliminary race in the 400m Hurdles, senior Jake Brock earned All-Conference honors on Saturday, finishing third with his time of 55.25.
- Loras' 4x400 Relay team of Gradoville, Foster, Lally and Frey helped the Duhawks repeat as champions with a time of 3:18.69.
- The Duhawks took home a second relay title in the 4x800, thanks to the team of Lally, Frey, senior Sam Whan and junior Brien Nuegent. The squad edged Wartburg for first place by nearly four seconds, finishing in 7:44.91.
- Sophomore Hunter Dunlap earned All-Conference honors in the Pole Vault with his mark of 4.35m.
- Senior Keontae Neely turned in a top-three performance in the Long Jump, leaping to a distance of 6.58m.
- Neely later added a second All-Conference honor in the Triple Jump, posting a PR of 14.10m, which ranks fourth all-time and is 40th in Division III.
- Junior Zach Soer took third in the Hammer Throw with his distance mark of 48.72m.
- As a group, the men's side earned 17 All-Conference honors.

Select student-athletes will compete next weekend at one of three Last Chance meets with hopes of qualifying for the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be hosted by Wartburg College.
