DES MOINES, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras track and field program pulled double duty this past weekend, sending competitors to both the 107th Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open. While the weather wasn't ideal for competitors, Loras managed to set 28 personal bests over the weekend.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Rachel Kilburg placed 10th in the 400m with her time of 1:02.29.
- Freshman Audrey Miller broke her own school record in the 5k, finishing second to a Division I runner from the University of Minnesota. Miller's time of 17:14.49 was 1.1 behind the winner.
- Junior Emily Day finished eighth in the 3000m Steeplechase with a PR time 11:41.92.
- Junior Elizabeth Brandenburg took sixth in the Pole Vault with her height of 3.70m.
- In the 110m Hurdles, sophomore Gerrand Moody placed ninth with a wind-aided time of 15.70.
- Ben Hedges ran a PR in the 3000m Steeplechase, finishing eighth in the field with his time of 10:10.56.
- Senior Keontae Neely reached 1.90m in the High Jump to take ninth place.
- Neely followed up his performance with a 10th place effort in the Long Jump, with a mark of 6.31m.
- Up the road from the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, select members of the Loras track and field program competed at the 107th Drake Relays in Des Moines.
- Loras' best finish came by way of senior Zach Frey, who took second in the unseeded 800m. Frey's time of 1:50.88 has him in fifth place in Division III.
- In total, the Duhawks had 10 relay teams competing on the weekend.
- Loras' Sprint Medley Relay team took eighth with their time of 3:30.02. The team consisted of seniors Nick Ball, Stedman Foster, Zach Frey and junior Brandon Gradoville.
- The women's 4x200 team took ninth, consisting of sophomores Alyssa Simon and Rachel Kilburg, along with junior Sarah Hanson and senior Bree Powers. The relay team posted a time of 1:43.49.

Loras returns home for its annual Dr. Tucker Open inside the Rock Bowl on Friday, May 6. Prior to the meet beginning, the Duhawks will honor its Class of 2016.
