MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
SET ONEÂ
- With both teams battling back and forth the open the match, Central took the first lead, using a 4–0 run to force a timeout from head coach Jenna Ness with Loras down, 10–5.
- Trailing 13–5, the Duhawks needed a spark and found one in the form of an eight-point run to even the opening frame.
- The score was even at 16-all when Loras used a 4–1 run to open a 20–17 advantage. A service ace from junior Haley Bergan prompted a timeout from the Dutch.
- Two consecutive Central errors to close out the set proved to be the difference, with Loras coming out on top in set one, 26–24.Â
SET TWOÂ
- The Dutch came out rejuvenated in the second set and raced out to a 5–1 early lead.
- Facing a 7–4 deficit, Loras forced five consecutive Central errors to take the lead for the first time in the second set, 9–7.
- A two-point run from the Duhawks capped by a kill from freshman Kelly Boge gave Loras a 19–17 lead, forcing the first timeout from the Dutch.
- A kill from senior Therese Schultz put the finishing touches on the second set for the Duhawks, winning by a 25–20 final.
SET THREE
- Loras was baited into taking an early first timeout once again as the Dutch started fast once again, using a 6-0 run to open up a significant advantage in the third set.
- Central continued to control the play in the frame, forcing the Duhawks to burn a second timeout trailing 21–16.Â
- Loras fought off three-straight set points for the Dutch, prompting a timeout from Central with the score, 24–22. A net violation on Schultz provided the final tally to give the Dutch the third set, 25–22.Â
SET FOUR
- In the most back-and-forth frame of the evening, Central used a few small runs to take a 17–12 lead.Â
- With the score 22–18 in the Dutch's favor, Loras ran off three consecutive tallies ended by a service ace from Senior Tara Blake, which forced a Central timeout.
- The break in action proved fruitful for the Dutch as they regrouped well, scoring three consecutive points to force a deciding fifth set, 25–21.
SET FIVE
- A block from senior Danni Kennedy and freshman Michelle Budden evened the frame at 9-all to spark a Central timeout.
- The Duhawks took a timeout of their own trailing 13–11, but the break in action failed to turn the tides as the Dutch finished off Loras in the fifth, 15–12, securing a come-from-behind victory for the home team.

Therese Schultz | Despite the negative result, Schultz proved her place as a cornerstone in the Duhawk offense, registering 14 kills at a .286 clip and adding five blocks.Â
