PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - In split squad action on Saturday, the Loras Track & Field program competed both at the UW-Platteville Invite and the Darren Young Classic, hosted by Grinnell. Sophomore
Audrey Miller broke her existing school record in the women's 5k, setting a new meet record with her time of 17:19, which ranks ninth in Division III. Joining Miller, freshman
Elyse Acompanado broke the all-time record in the women's long jump by 13 centimeters at 5.65m, besting a UW-Platteville's Amber Williams, a multiple time All-American.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Women
- Loras' 4x200 Relay team of senior Alexis Hanson, juniors Alyssa Simon and Rachel Kilburg along with freshman Alexis Alt claimed top honors with the time of 1:46.84, nearly four seconds ahead of the second place team.
- In the 4x400 Relay, the Duhawks finished back-to-back in third and fourth with the "A" team of Alt, Hanson, Kilburg and junior Emily Ney finished third at 4:10.41 while the "B" team of Serres, Noland, sophomore Bella Solis and junior Sarah Schoel came in fourth at 4:14.25.
- Freshman Michelle Budden took fourth in the high jump with her mark of 1.45m.
- Senior Elizabeth Brandenburg won the pole vault, once again, this time with her height of 3.70m. She remains fifth in Division III after her performance at the Sol Butler Classic in January.
- Sophomore Esther Johnson took second in the weight throw at 15.00m and added a third place finish in the shot put with her mark of 11.83m.

Men
- At the Darren Young Classic in Grinnell, junior Justin Adams led the way for much of the race before finishing fourth with his time of 15:43.16. Teammate and freshman Patrick Wolak edged Adams in the final standings, finishing third at 15:40.59.
- Junior Timothy Sevcik made his season debut in the 3,000 meter run and competed indoors for the first time since 2015, finishing second with a time of 8:56.52 behind an unattached runner.
- In the 4x200 Relay, Loras' team of senior Brandon Gradoville, junior Colby Rattenborg and freshmen Beaton and Evan Smith bested the field with their time of 1:32.99 for a season PR.
- Later, in the 4x400 Relay, the Duhawks once again flexed their muscle, finishing first with a time of 3:24.83.
- Senior Devon Kennedy cleared 4.28m in the Pole Vault for a third place finish.
- Rattenborg's day transitioned over to the jumps, where the junior took fourth in the long jump with his distance of 6.58m.
UP NEXT
Loras won't travel the rest of the indoor season, competing at the Spartan Invite on Friday before returning to the University of Dubuque for the 2017 Iowa Conference Championships, set for Feb. 24.
