NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - With winter creeping into the rearview mirror, the Loras men's tennis team opened its spring season on Saturday in non-conference action against North Central. Loras took a 2-1 lead after doubles play, but dropped four of six singles matches and conceded the match, 5-4.

NOTABLES
- Jason Derby recorded his 24th win of his career in his season debut ... All 24 wins have come at No. 1 singles .. In doubles action, Derby improved to 20-10 in his career at No. 1 doubles
- Charlie Harris earned his first win of the season at No. 2 singles ... In both of Loras' fall matches, Harris played at the No. 1 spot, finishing 1-1
- On Saturday, Harris battled back after dropping the first set 7-6 to win the second set 6-3 and tiebreaker 10-8
- Kevin Murphy is the only active member of the team to have played doubles matches at all three spots
