Powerful Bats Push the Duhawks Ahead in Game One

PELLA, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Duhawks start their final regular season series with a 10-5 win over Central. The Loras bats were hot as they racked up 17 hits on the day while adding two homeruns. Ryan Koester sparked the Duhawk lineup by hitting 3-for-5 with five RBIs and a 3-run homer.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- Loras got on the board early in the first inning with an RBI single by Danny Weis to score Cole Thompson
- The lead didn't hold long as Central put up two runs in the bottom half of the first
- Thomas Greffly got the two runs back for Loras as he launched his third homerun of the season in the second inning
- The Duhawks kept the bats hot as they scored one run in the third, fourth and fifth inning to take a 6-2 lead
- In the top of the 7th, Loras piled on more runs as Koester homered for a 3-run shot
- Weis grabbed another RBI in the eighth inning to extend the Duhawk lead 10-4
- Spiess picks up his fourth win on the year as he threw 5.0 innings while striking out five

Koester hit his fourth homerun of the year in his two hit game … Five of the ten Duhawk runs were batted in by the West Chicago native.

Loras will finish off their regular season with a doubleheader tomorrow against Central. The Duhawks look to sweep to lock up the fourth seed in the Iowa Conference Tournament. First pitch for Saturday is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
