Nov. 25, 2019 – In the first installment of weekly rankings from D3hoops.com, the Loras College women's basketball team checked in as the No. 24 team in the nation following a 4-0 start to the 2019-20 campaign, marking the first time in program history to earn top-25 recognition.
Loras opened the season with a road win against Elmhurst College before winning the first two games on its home court against then-ranked No. 24 Washington University (Mo.) on Nov. 15 and No. 17 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in overtime on Nov. 16. The Duhawks then traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday, Nov. 23 and defeated the Blugolds with four free throws in the final fifteen seconds.
Macenzie Kraemer leads the team with 84 points and
Marissa Schroeder has 61 points on the season. Kramer is also 15-16 on free throws and
Kari Fitzpatrick is 9-10 from the line. Schroeder leads the team with 30 rebounds and four blocks while Fitzpatrick has 13 steals.
Wartburg College is the other American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) representative in the poll, coming in at No. 8. Amherst College, Tufts University and the University of Scranton are the top-three teams in the nation. UW-Oshkosh and WashU both dropped out of the poll.
The Duhawks begin A-R-C action on Tuesday, Nov. 26, hosting Central College at 5:30 P.M inside the Athletic & Wellness Center.
