Women's Soccer Welcomes Home Schutz '18 as Next Assistant Coach

July 15, 2022 – Loras College women's soccer head coach Matt Pucci '08 announced the hiring of Gretchen Schutz '18 as the next assistant coach for the Duhawks on Friday. Gretchen returns to her alma mater with a wealth of experience as a member of three of Loras' NCAA Division III tournament teams.

A three-time American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) honoree and the 2018 Offensive MVP, Schutz posted an impressive four-year career with the Duhawks. She was an All-Region selection in 2018 by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) and helped lead the team to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament in 2016, 2017 and 2018. She ranks fifth all-time in career points (95), sixth in goals (28) and third in assists (39). Her 34 points her senior season ranks tenth in the Duhawks' single season record book and 15 assists her junior year puts her third.

A native of Lodi, Wis., Schutz earned her bachelor's degree in sports management in 2018 and joins a Duhawk program coming off a historic NCAA Division III Semifinalist finish and a 21-1-2 record, including an undefeated 16-0-1 regular season and the conference regular season and tournament titles.
