Sept. 28, 2022 – Senior forward
Ryleigh O'Brien put together two more masterful performances last week to help the Loras College women's soccer team to a pair of lopsided victories and garner the Division III National Player of the Week award from the United Soccer Coaches.
The Hampton, Ill. native also earned her third career American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Offensive Player of the Week award earlier this week, marking the second time she's won the award this season.
O'Brien accumulated a stellar 11 points across the Duhawks' two games last week, tallying two goals in each game to bring her season total to an A-R-C-leading eight. She notched two goals and two assists in the team's 4-0 win at Lawrence University last Tuesday, then added two goals and one assist during Saturday's Senior Day game, a 6-0 Duhawks win over Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Her six points in the game at Lawrence tied a career-high from 2019. She leads the way for the Loras offense that currently ranks 15
th in Division III with 3.62 goals scored per game.
O'Brien and the Duhawks are in action today, Wednesday Sept. 28, as they are set to host the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater inside the Rock Bowl at 5 P.M.
