DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Loras College women's soccer team leaped into the top-15 in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll following a pair of shutout victories last week.
The Duhawks remain the only American Rivers Conference team in the national rankings, while cross-town rival University of Dubuque made its first appearance in the Region IX rankings at No. 7. Loras continues to hold the top spot in the region.
Loras (13-0-1, 6-0-0 A-R-C) has maintained its unbeaten start behind a dominant blend of defense and attack, recording 13 shutouts this season. The Duhawks have scored 16 goals across their last four matches, including a 5-0 win over Coe College and a 3-0 victory against Wartburg College.
The Purple and Gold host the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m. before taking the weekend off and closing the regular season on the road at Central College on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
