DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team climbed one spot to No. 18 in the latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) national poll following a pair of shutout victories last week.
The Duhawks remain the lone American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) program featured in both the national and regional rankings, holding steady at No. 1 in Region IX.
Loras (9-0-1, 2-0-0 A-R-C) continues its unbeaten run with a powerful combination of offensive firepower and defensive consistency, recording back-to-back clean sheets. The Duhawks defeated the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, 3-0, before rolling past Buena Vista University, 5-0, to open conference play with two decisive wins. They have now recorded shutouts in nine of their 10 matches this season.
The Purple and Gold travel to Decorah, Iowa, on Wednesday, Oct. 8, to face Luther College at 5 p.m. before returning home Saturday, Oct. 11, to host Simpson College at 1 p.m.
