DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's tennis team faced a tough challenge Wednesday evening, falling to Luther College at Tucker Tennis Courts.

In doubles play, Diego Mejias and Gage Becker dropped a 6-3 decision to Luke Westholder and Eli Young at the No. 1 spot. The Duhawks also struggled at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, as Lucas Healy and Jackson Craig, along with Samuel Canas Guerrero, fell by identical 6-1 scores. Loras entered singles play trailing 1-0.

The Duhawks sought to turn things around in singles action, but Luther remained dominant. Mejias fell 6-1 to Westholder at No. 1 singles, while Becker lost to Joao Benvenutti 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2. Canas Guerrero was defeated by Abhay Chhabra 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3, and Healy came up short against Young 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4. Sean Sonoiki fell 6-0, 6-1 to Gerardo Ramirez Mainou at No. 5, while Henry Condo closed out singles play with a 6-4, 6-1 loss to Jake Althaus at No. 6.
