2025 Women's Tennis Season Preview

September 1, 2025

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's tennis team is set to begin its 2025 season on Tuesday, when they host their cross-town rival, the University of Dubuque.

With six newcomers on this year's roster, head coach Cam Long is looking to see a lot of growth over the course of the season.

"Over half the roster is new this season," said Long. "My expectation is that each player continues to grow, improve, and learn something new each day whether in practice or a match. We've had a great tradition of team chemistry the past couple of seasons, so I expect the team to come together as a group to work toward our goals."

Mary Breitbach returns to the court for Loras. Breitbach will look to build on a successful first two seasons with the Purple and Gold, both ending in All-Conference recognition. The junior from Peoria, Ill. finished last season with 9-3 singles record.

The Duhawks also return their team leader in doubles wins the last two seasons, Ellie Kalina. The junior from Slinger, Wis. has posted a 24-14 doubles record, with seven of those wins coming last year.

After their matchup with UD, Loras will host Monmouth College at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 6, followed by Ripon College at 3 p.m.
