DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team jumped into the top-20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) poll, earning the No. 19 spot after two dominant victories last week.
The Duhawks remain the lone American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) program represented in both the regional and national rankings, taking over the No. 1 position in the region for the first time this season.
Loras (7-0-1, 1-0-0 A-R-C) extended its unbeaten start behind a dominant offense and disciplined defense, recording back-to-back shutouts. The Duhawks blanked Marian University (Wis.) 4-0 before rolling past Nebraska Wesleyan University 6-0 in their conference opener, giving them seven clean sheets in eight matches this fall.
The Purple and Gold return to the Rock Bowl this week for a pair of home contests, hosting University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. and Buena Vista University on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m.
