NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the second consecutive week, Loras College's
Caitlyn Cox was named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Women's National Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday.
Cox earned the honor after her performance at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa. Competing in the premier weight throw flight, Cox placed first in a field of 20 with a personal-best mark of 20.33 meters on her final attempt. The throw broke her own school record, ranks first in Division III this season and stands fourth on the NCAA Division III all-time list.
Cox is the first NCAA Division III female athlete to be consecutively honored since 2021.
