DECORAH, Iowa — The Loras College women's track and field team placed third at the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Indoor Championships hosted by Luther College.
The Duhawks scored 92.5 points and collected All-Conference honors in 10 events, with eight individual finishes and two relay teams.
Caitlyn Cox and
Keelee Leitzen led Loras with major conference awards in addition to All-Conference recognition. Cox was named the league's Most Valuable Field Performer, winning the shot put with a lifetime best of 13.40 meters, a mark that ranks sixth in program history and 26th nationally in Division III. She also captured her fourth career weight throw title with a toss of 19.99 meters, breaking the conference championship record for the third time and setting new meet and facility records.
Leitzen was named A-R-C Rookie of the Year for the second time after also earning the honor during the cross country season. She won the mile in 4:54.35, a time that ranks second in program history and eighth nationally, and added a runner-up finish in the 800 meters at 2:15.80.
The distance medley relay team of Lilly Molloy,
Rosie Flynn,
Savannah Davis, and Leitzen won the event in 12:13.18 to claim All-Conference honors.
Maddie Mucci added a conference title in the triple jump with a leap of 11.22 meters.
In her Duhawk debut,
Andelyn Cabalka finished third in the pentathlon with 3,004 points, ranking fourth in program history. The 4x800-meter relay team of Davis, Molloy, Bailey Vaughn and Leitzen placed third in 9:41.96.
Katie Flynn finished second in the 400 meters with a personal-best 57.06, which ranks third all-time in program history, while
Rosie Flynn placed third in the 800 meters with a personal-best 2:15.95.
Up Next: Loras travels to Waverly, Iowa to compete at the Wartburg Qualifier on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7.
