Box Score 2 ORLANDO, Fla. – The Loras College men's tennis team came back from a loss on day one in Florida with a 2-0 day, picking up 4-3 wins over Albion College and Moravian University.
Loras 4, Albion College 3
Loras was able to claim the doubles point thanks to victories from
Gage Becker and
Hayden Martins at No. 1, and
Jaimes Palmer and
Dali Martens at No. 2.
In singles play, Martens got the Duhawks on the board with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4. Becker followed with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Carter Kendall at No. 1. After dropping matches at the No. 5 and 2 position,
Andrew Day got the win for Loras with a 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6.
Loras 4, Moravian 3
Unlike the prior match, Loras was unable to grab the doubles point as Samuel Canas Guerrero and Nagar Abhyudit were the lone winners, defeating Ben Horne and Garrett Morris at No. 3 7-5.
Becker got the scoring started in singles play with his 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1.
Horia Popa was the next winner, taking down Morris 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. After dropping a match at the No. 2 position,
Sean Sonoiki won at No. 5 6-2, 6-1. Palmer came through with the winning point for Loras, defeating Ryan Burke in a tiebreaker at No. 4.
