ORLANDO, Fla. - The Loras College men's and women's tennis team opened its spring break trip against the University of Superior on Monday. The men fell by a score of 5-2, while the women lost 6-1.

Loras 2, UW-Superior 5

The Duhawk men came out of the gates strong, with a sweep in doubles. Gage Becker and Hayden Martin won 6-3 at No. 1, while Jaimes Palmer and Dali Martens won at No. 2, 6-4. Abhyudit Nagar and Samuel Canas Guerrero completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory at No. 3.

In singles play, Nagar was the lone Duhawk winner, taking down Adam Culp 1-6, 6-1, 1-0.

Loras 1, UW-Superior 6

On the women's side, the Duhawks fell behind early after not being able to get a win in doubles play. 

Mary Breitbach was responsible for the Purple and Gold singles point, defeating Andreina Tejada 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1.

UP NEXT: Both teams will return to the court tomorrow, Mar. 10, to take on Albion College and Moravian University.
