PELLA, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - Saturday brought about a doubleheader in men's tennis action as Loras faced Simpson and Central in Iowa Conference action. The Duhawks fell 6-3 to the Storm and 9-0 to the Dutch.
In their first match of the day, the Duhawks opened with back-to-back wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles against Simpson. Senior

Zach Atzen won at No. 1 singles by an 8-5 margin. The momentum carried on for Loras as sophomores
Ulises Hernandez and
Neil Kane were 8-2 winners at No. 2 doubles.
The Duhawks took a 2-1 into singles play and quickly made it 3-1 after Falvey cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles. Simpson responded by winning the next five singles matches to take the dual 6-3.
After a quick drive north to Pella, the Duhawks got off to a slow start and had difficulty recovering. Central took all nine matches on the day. Falvey and Atzen fell at No. 1 doubles 8-4.
Loras will host Buena Vista next Saturday at 9 a.m. The Beavers are 2-11 overall and 0-2 in IIAC play.
