CLINTON, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras Men's Tennis team suffered a defeat at the hands of Ashford University, 9-0. Senior Brian Falvey and freshman Zach Atzen nearly pulled off a victory at No. 1 doubles, but fell 8-5.

Joining Falvey and Atzen in doubles play, Neil Kane and Ulises Hernandez fell at No. 2 doubles, 8-2. Paul Mniszewski and senior Jack O'Brien dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Falvey battled Gian Pico of Ashford, but didn't have enough to walk away victorious, falling 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Hernandez came close to a win at No. 2 singles, falling 6-1, 6-3 to Bart Van Rooijen of Ashford.

The Duhawks return to Iowa Conference play on Saturday, facing off against Simpson and Central.
