ALL-TIME RECORD AGAINST COE
Loras holds a 33-23 advantage over the Kohawks throughout their 71 years of competition. The Duhawks first met Coe during the 1944-1945 season in which they were victorious, 73-26.

LAST TIME AGAINST COE
The last time the Duhawks took on Coe was last year in a Valentine's day shootout, on Senior Night for Nathaniel Smith, Aaron Schueller, Bobby Harmening, Luke Barry and Regan Takes. This game  was the first time in their careers in which all five of them started together. They battled Coe in the 2nd half, making an effort to come back, but unfortunately the Kohawks managed to keep them from their fairy tale ending. Coe sealed the victory by hitting three free-throws with the Duhawks trailing by a single basket. The Kohawks secured their season sweep of the Duhawks by a final score of 71-66.

SCOUTING THE KOHAWKS
Coe enters the 2015-2016 season searching for their identity after losing two all-conference performers from last season's squad. The loss of J.T. Vonderhaar and Matt Daoust leaves Coe lacking an inside presence and an outside shooter. This season those roles have been filled by Marshall Shedeck and Trevor Haaland. Thus far Shedeck and Haaland have performed admirably, combining to score an average of 25.6 points per game for the Kohawks. While these players have performed to the best of their abilities this year, it's been Matt Vonderhaar stealing the show. Brother of All-Conference second teamer J.T. Vonderhaar, Matt brings an offensive game to the table matched by few in the Iowa Conference. On the season, the younger Vonderhaar has averaged 16.2 points per game, which ranks seventh in the conference. Coe also boasts one of the top point guards in the Iowa Conference in Jacob Timm, whose 3.1 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks first in the conference.

ALL-TIME RECORD AGAINST BUENA VISTA
Buena Vista holds a 46-39 advantage over the Duhawks in their 95 years of competition, dating back to the 1920-1921 season. In that contest, the Duhawks came away on top by a final score of 48-14.

LAST TIME AGAINST BUENA VISTA
On February 5th last year, the Duhawks took on Buena Vista. Buena Vista exploited the Duhawks poor defense by outscoring them 96-80. The Duhawks barely hung in there in the first half as they trailed by 10 points, but then Buena Vista went on a 20 to 3 run to start the second half and that put away the Duhawks for good. After the game, Duhawk coach, Greg Gorton said "The way that Buena Vista shot the ball tonight they would've beaten anyone in our conference." The Duhawks defense has certainly improved this year.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
As a team, the Beavers have taken a step back from last season, entering into conference play at 5-6. This season Buena Vista has been led by senior guard Nick Clark and junior forward Kennedy Drey. Drey and Clark return as one of the top duos in the conference having each been named as all-conference performers last season. Clark ranks third in the conference, averaging 20.5 points per game and first in assists with 6.7 per. Buena Vista's breakout performer this season has been Sean Morgan, who came into the season averaging just 7.2 minutes per game a season prior. In his junior season, Morgan has started in all 11 games for Buena Vista averaging 13.1 points per game on a stellar 73.2 percent shooting, a mark which leads the Iowa Conference.

LAST TIME OUT
In their final game of the non-conference schedule, the Duhawks bested the Keene State Owls in triple overtime. Loras outlasted the Owls to score 22 points in the final overtime period. Junior Justin VanWambeke had the game of his career, posting a line of 34 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals. It was junior Danny Quinn who stole the show in overtime, scoring 10 of his 11 points in order to seal the victory. Quinn brought energy to the court, pumping up the bench with a late fastbreak slam. A slew of Duhawks recorded career-highs in scoring, with Ryan DiCanio scoring 24 and Nolan Timp scoring 15.

GEORGE TAKES CHARGE
The 6-0 Freshman from from Naperville, Ill. has taken a lead role in his first season for the Duhawks. George leads the team in steals, sitting at 20 so far this season, an average of 2.0 steals per game. His 2.0 steals per game ranks first in the Iowa Conference. He has also accounted for 9 assists and 0.9 assists per game. George has a .431 field goal percentage and has 77 points on the season thus far, averaging 7.7 points per game.

IMPORTANCE OF CONFERENCE PLAY
The Duhawks come home from Arizona with a tally under each column on their record. They dropped their first game to Southern Maine 86-80, but then finished the trip with a thrilling win in triple overtime over Keene State, 112-102. The Duhawks head into conference play this campaign with a 5-6 record, which is identical to their record a season ago. Loras completed conference play last year with a 5-9 record putting them at 10-15 for the season. To accomplish their team goals and expectations, the Duhawks will have to perform well in the IIAC.

VANWAMBEKE ENTERS CONFERENCE PLAY ON CAREER-BEST STRETCH
Over his last three games the junior has averaged 27.6 points per game on 52.7 percent shooting, proving that he's in top form. Over the course of this stretch, VanWambeke has raised his scoring average by 3.3 points per game on the season. Better yet is his strong showing from the charity stripe, hitting 16-of-19 shots, good for 84.2 percent shooting. On of VanWambeke's biggest improvements this season has been his three-point shooting, resulting in a 44.4 percent showing this season compared to last seasons 37.5 percent on 88 attempts. VanWambeke has continued to do a little bit of everything for Loras this season, hauling in 16 rebounds, and dishing out 18 dimes in his last three outings.
