KOHLER, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's tennis team improved to 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Lakeland, 9-0. It's the first 2-0 start for Loras since at least the 2005 season.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- Lakeland forfeited at the No. 6 spot in singles and No. 3 spot in doubles.
- Among the victories were the first in their collegiate careers for freshmen Joe Janouch and Nick Barron.
- Barron dropped his opening set 6-2 before battling back to take the second set 6-2 and went on to win the tiebreaker, 10-5.
- Janouch cruised to his victory at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
- In doubles play, Loras took 16 of the 17 total sets played, winning 8-1 at No. 1 and 8-0 at No. 2.
