HILTON HEAD, S.C. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's tennis team fell to 3-4 on the year with a 9-0 loss to Millikin on Wednesday. The women's team played Millikin late on Wednesday and fell by a 7-2 match score.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Kevin Murphy dropped his first set at No. 5 singles, 6-1, and fought back but fell in the second set, 6-4.
- At No. 3 doubles, the tandem of seniors Neil Kane and Ulises Hernandez kept it close, falling 8-3
- In women's play, junior Jessica Dickhut and freshman Emma Cooke came away with a 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles.
- The No. 1 doubles duo of sophomores Sam Pietruszynski and Kylie DeWees battled to push the set to extras, but came up short, losing 9-7.
- Dickhut got out to a strong lead at No. 1 singles, winning the first set, 6-4. Millikin's Molly Angell responded by taking set two, 6-3, and the tiebreaker 10-3.
- At the No. 5 spot, sophomore Ayla Graziano posted her second win of the trip in singles play, knocking off Millikin's Madeline Delano in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Both teams will begin their trek back to Iowa and both teams return to the courts on March 31 when they take on Aurora.
