JOHNNIES TO WATCH OUT FOR
Daniel Bruckbauer and Dylan Lehrer are two players that the Loras defense should have an eye on. Bruckbauer, through eight matches, leads the team in points by recording two goals and four assists with his assist total ranking tied for second in the MIAC. Lehrer is second on the team in points with six by way of two goals and two assists.
DUHAWKS TURNING THE TIDE
After dropping a pair of consecutive matches, the Duhawks bounced back on Sunday with a 4–2 win over Nebraska Wesleyan. This was Loras' first IIAC match of the season and with the win, the Duhawks extended their conference winning streak to 10, dating back to last season. With a majority of the conference slate around the corner, Loras will hope that Sunday's win helps to turn the tide.
MILLER'S VERSATILITY PAYING DIVIDENDS
Senior
Calvin Miller is known for his ability to anchor the defense and help stop top players from generating scoring opportunities. With the amount of roster turnover from last season into this season, Miller's role has expanded into providing offense when needed as well as being a defensive shutdown specialist. Heading into this week's games against UW-Whitewater and Saint John's, Miller has notched three goals and added an assist through six games, which puts him in a tie for the team lead with seven total points.
OLSON COMING UP CLUTCH
Early on his senior campaign,
Kyler Olson has found himself to be in the right place in the right time, resulting in three goals, two of which have served as game-winners. On opening night, it was Olson who delivered the game-winning strike against Carroll before adding his second from the penalty spot on Sunday against Nebraska Wesleyan.
O'CONNELL CONTRIBUTING FROM THE GET-GO
Freshman
Liam O'Connell has been a key addition to the Duhawks' offense this season. The Libertyville, Ill. native has struck for two goals and earned a helper on senior
Jonah Jacke's goal against St. Norbert. As the season progresses and O'Connell, along with the other newcomers to the roster, become acclimated to the Loras style, fans can expect them to increase in their contributions.
