Football Unveils 2024 Schedule

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College football team released its 2024 regular season schedule this afternoon, a 10-game slate that features two non-conference opponents and five games at Bierre Field inside Rock Bowl Stadium.

"We're excited for the 2024 season," said head coach Steve Helminiak. "We have two more seasons with our non-conference opponents, returning to Hope and with Benedictine back at the Rock Bowl for another night game. The conference schedule will be difficult as usual with our bye coming later in the season. There's much work to be done between now and September 7th!"

2024 LORAS COLLEGE FOOTALL SCHEDULE
Saturday, September 7: at Hope College | 1 p.m. ET
Loras will open up its season with a trip to Holland, Mich. To take on Hope College on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. Last year, the Duhawks raced out to an early 14-0 advantage before Hope flipped the script as the Flying Dutchman won it, 42-28.

Saturday, September 14: vs. Benedictine University | 6 p.m. (Military Appreciation Night)
The Duhawks and Eagles met in Loras' season-opener last season, a game in which the Purple and Gold won, 42-41, in thrilling fashion. The two programs have met four times since 2018, which Loras leading the series at three games to one.

Saturday, September 21: vs. Buena Vista University | 1 p.m. (Family Weekend)
Buena Vista University heads to Dubuque for the start of American Rivers Conference play after last season's game was played in Storm Lake, the first such occurrence since 2018. The Duhawks are in the midst of a six-game win streak over the Beavers, with its most recent being the 49-21 win on Oct. 28, 2023.

Saturday, September 28: at Simpson College | 1 p.m.
The most explosive game for Loras last season came against Simpson, a day in which the Duhawk offense put up 82 points in an 82-16 drubbing of the Storm on Nov. 4. Loras has won the last four meetings over the Storm.

Saturday, October 5: vs. Coe College | 1 p.m.  (Homecoming & Hall of Fame Weekend)
Coe College comes to town for Loras' Homecoming and Hall of Fame Weekend in the early goings of October. Coe has won the last five match ups, so the Purple and Gold will certainly look to take one back in front of the Loras faithful.

Saturday, October 12: at Luther College | 1 p.m.
Loras extended its win streak to six over the Norse after last year's 44-29 victory at home. Quarterback Evan England threw for 195 yards and four touchdowns, while adding an additional score on the ground. Running back Johnnie Cason II rushed for a career-high 112 yards on 19 carries, while Jamel Britt pitched in 57 yards and a score.

Saturday, October 19: vs. the University of Dubuque | 1 p.m.
The always-intense Key City Clash is set to take place inside the Rock Bowl on Oct. 19. The Duhawks are looking to snap a 12-game skid over the Spartans, having last won against Dubuque on Oct. 9, 2010.

Saturday, November 2: at Central College | 1 p.m.
November is kicked off with Loras heading to Pella to face the Central College Dutch on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Duhawks last won over Central on Sept. 17, 2022, 38-35.

Saturday, November 9: vs. Nebraska Wesleyan University  | 1 p.m. (Senior Day)
The final home game of the season sees Nebraska Wesleyan head to town for Loras' senior day. The last meeting was one for the ages, as Loras walked off with a game-winning touchdown between quarterback Evan England and wide receiver 'Mani Brown in the game's second overtime period. The Purple and Gold will look to extend its winning streak to seven over the Prairie Wolves.

Saturday, November 16: at Wartburg College | 1 p.m.
The Duhawks end the year on the road at Wartburg College, who fell 34-27 to North Central College in the NCAA Playoff Semifinals. The Knights have won the last 18-straight over the Duhawks, so Loras has a chance to make some history in the match up on Nov. 18.
