Hall of Fame
One of the most decorated athletes on the gridiron in the history of Loras College football, McGrew saw time at running back, punter, and on special teams as a returner over the course of his career with the Duhawks. If that wasn't enough, McGrew also competed on the track and field program in the javelin, long jump, triple jump, and as part of the 4x100-meter relay team.
A four-year starter for the Purple and Gold, McGrew went on to become one of the best running backs in the IIAC, earning All-Conference honors in 2007 and 2008. The '08 season was one of the most memorable for the Van Horne, Iowa, native as he earned IIAC Most Valuable Player honors after rushing for 1,592 yards and 20 touchdowns – a mark that stands as the most in a single season in program history. McGrew ranks fourth among Loras College rushers with 2,936 yards.
For as dangerous as he was on offense, McGrew carried that over to special teams where he ranks first in a single season in punt return yards (262), fourth in kick return yards (648), and seventh in punt yards (1,764). In his final season, McGrew ranked fourth in rushing yards and second in all-purpose yards across NCAA Division III, earning him All-American honors.
