  • According to Coach Bob Bierie, arguably the best player on arguably the best modern era Loras football teams. Coyle was a four-year starter at defensive end for the Duhawks under coach Bob Bierie from 1982 to 1985.
  • Captain his senior year, named NAIA all-district 15 and All-America (honorable mention) in 1985.
  • Academic All-America for three straight seasons from 1983-85, as well as GTE/CoSIDA academic All-American first team in 1984 and 1985.
  • Coyle graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics and philosophy and earned his master's degree from George Mason University in International Transactions. He also earned a graduate diploma in banking from American Bankers' Association.
