Using his legs to his advantage, Swanson was a menace on the diamond under head coach Carl Tebon, tormenting fielders and catchers alike with his lightning-quick speed and elusiveness. A career .382 hitter, Swanson swiped 99 bases and drove in 97 runs. His career included two 10-game hitting streaks during the 2000 season and as a junior, hit for the cycle against Upper Iowa. A three-time All-Conference selection and All-Region honoree, Swanson owns three program records and ranked eighth in the NCAA at the conclusion of his career for stolen bases.
