Kathy (Froehlich) Christiansen made her first appearance at the NCAA Division III National Championship as a freshman in 1988 and earned her first All-America award as a sophomore. She set the school record in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives as a senior in 1991, both of which held for more than 30 years, and became the first female three-time All-American in program history.

A native of Barrington, Ill., Christiansen studied communications at Loras and held multiple positions in the media industry following graduation, including a stop as a disk jockey for a classic rock station. She and her husband, Thad, a 1990 University of Dubuque graduate and a former Duhawk diving coach, have two children and reside in Spring Grove, Ill.
