  • The first women track and field All-American in Loras history, Getz was a pioneer in the sport on campus
  • After dominating the intramural events in her first two years, she lobbied for a women's varsity track and field program. And as a junior, she joined four other female student-athletes and head coach Barb Anderson in the formation of the first woman's track and field team at Loras.
  • During her senior year, she qualified for the 1981 AIAW National Championships in the 100-meter hurdles where she placed third.
  • Getz also received honors for her role in the classroom, by being awarded the Loras faculty award for top academic and athletic accomplishments.
