Rob Murray, a native of Orland Park, Ill. and product of Providence Catholic High School, was a four-year member of the wrestling program and after experiencing the learning curve of college wrestling as a freshman, quickly evolved into a decorated wrestler for the Duhawks. He went from a 10-12 record his first year to 30-9 and 28-7 as a junior and senior, respectively, with three All-American finishes along the way. He wrestled at 165 and 174 lbs. for the Duhawks, placing seventh as a sophomore, fourth as a junior, and fifth as a senior. At the conference level, Murray was the champion at 174 lbs. in 2000.

After earning his degree in engineering, Murray joined the Navy and worked in the nuclear power program until 2008. He has since remained involved with the college as a member of the Engineering Advisory Board and National Alumni Board. While at Loras, Murray met his wife and now enjoys coaching his sons in wrestling and baseball, spending time with his family, and coming back to campus whenever he has the chance.
