Loras College Athletics

• During one of the most successful stretches of wins and losses in Loras College football history, Tim Keane provided consistent and often dominant play as a defensive back and return man. The Duhawks went 7-3 in Keane's junior and senior seasons – campaign's that each ended with first team All-Iowa Conference selections. His efforts in his final season with the team included an Honorable

Mention All-American selection by Champion.  In addition to his success on the football field, Keane also provided the Loras College Track and Field team with consistent and dominant performances.

• Keane set 12 school records while in his track and football uniforms. Five school records from the track are his – three outdoor and two indoor – and seven return records from the football field also bear his name. Individually, he's the fastest hurdler at the 55 and 200 meter distances. Outdoors, he holds the 110 Meter Hurdles record and was also a member of the best 4 x 200 Meter Relay and Sprint Medley Relay teams in program history. Keane holds five of the 12 punt return records, including yards in a season (270 in 1990) and career average (9.2 yards). He also holds the best career kick return average (22.4 yards) and posted the best total kick return yardage in a single season in 1989 (388 yards).
• Keane's performances translated into a rare opportunity for Duhawks in the post-NAIA era. The speedy return man and defensive back was invited to Chicago Bears mini-camp in 1992 in nearby Platteville, Wisconsin and was still competing for a spot when the roster was shrunk to 80 that summer before injuries shortened his camp experience.
• Keane earned a degree in Social Work from Loras and has spent 18 years serving wards of the state of Illinois and other at-risk young people in an effort to improve their education and life skills. For the past five years, he has been the Director of Behavioral Services for an Illinois Safe School Program. Keane also earned degrees from National Louis University and resides in Chicago, Illinois.
