Hall of Fame
A pillar in the storied history of Loras College wrestling, Steward enjoyed a 23-year career at the side of the mat as the head coach of the Duhawks. Over his illustrious career, the DeWitt, Iowa, native sported an overall record of 228-199-2, making him the winningest coach in program history.
Steward was named the Iowa Conference Coach of the Year four times and was the NCAA Central Region Coach of the year in 2014 after qualifying three wrestlers for nationals and winning the national championship at 285 lbs. Under Steward, the Duhawks saw 56 student-athletes earn All-American status, in addition to 15 Academic All-Americans, nine top-16 national finishes, and six national champions.
In addition to his induction to the Loras College Athletics Hall of Fame, Steward is also an inductee of the NWCA Division III Wrestling Hall of Fame and will be enshrined into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2024.
